PIANO

  • PMA facilitates teaching the “King of Instruments” – the Piano – on both Acoustic and Digital Pianos.
  • Piano is special because of the ability to play both melody and harmony simultaneously – you can play a whole piece by yourself and it sounds complete where as any other instrument would need an accompaniment. There cannot be anyone in the world who does not love the sound of the piano.
  • At PMA, the curriculum for Piano is adjusted according to the needs of individual students. The methods and books are carefully chosen by the faculty to impart the best knowledge to you. The core concepts are taught using the Aural, Tactile, Visual and Intellectual skills and followed up with practical applications such as repertoire, harmonization, score reading and transposition.
  • These are interspersed with special topic areas of Improvisation, Popular Music and Reading & Rhythm.

KEYBOARD

  • Electronic Keyboard is the ideal instrument to help develop one’s musical skills, especially relative pitch and understanding of harmony, because the keyboard offers a visual support to comprehension of harmonic structures. The music that you are playing is visible. That makes the keyboard many composer’s favorite instrument. Scales, Intervals, Chords all make sense to the human mind while playing a keyboard.
  • With over 8 different varieties of Electronic Keyboards, PMA offers you a wide range of choices to hone your skills – whether you are a fresh learner or a seasoned player.
  • With the latest ranges from the famous keyboard makers, Casio and Yamaha, PMA offers you instruments which are specially optimized for recreating the unique sound of Indian instruments in your keyboard performances and sequences.
  • The curriculum is based on the efforts to take you through the several levels of keyboard playing – Beginner through Intermediate, Senior, Advance, Performer to being able to lead a small music group (Quartet Level).

GUITAR

The greatest instrument of all time, guitar is fairly portable, relatively inexpensive, easy enough to learn the basics – without any age limit – and you can take your playing as far as you want.

At PMA, you will be guided through all aspects of producing sound on the Guitar along with music reading, music theory, and selected historical, cultural and technical contributions.Playing guitar involves a combination of basic skills. At PMA, you shall learn those skills, and learn them properly. In addition to learning for the grade syllabus, you will also be mastering :

  • • Improvisation.
  • • Chord structure and colors.

  • The next step to becoming a better guitar player is Improvisation. It is not only one of the most fun and fulfilling aspects of guitar playing, but also something that requires a lot of hard work and dedication.

Classical Guitar - Nylon string guitars are very light and built with woods to emphasize resonance. Classical guitar commonly played with many styles of Latin and Brazilian music,some pop, folk, and jazz as well.


Electric Guitar - guitar that uses a pickup to convert the vibration of its strings into electrical impulses.


Bass Guitar - also called electric bass, is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, strumming, tapping, thumping, or picking with a plectrum, often known as a pick.

WESTERN VOICE

  • The roots of Western Classical Music lie in the early Christian liturgical music and its influences date back to the Ancient Greeks. Development of individual tones and scales was done by Ancient Greeks such as Aristoxenus and Pythagoral. The most outstanding characteristics of western classical music is that the repertoire tends to be written down in musical notation, western staff notation is used by composers to prescribe to the performer the pitch, speed, meter, individual rhythms and exact execution of a piece of music.
  • Taught by the best teachers of Western Classical Music in Chennai,PMA is proud to be associated with these great masters. PMA does detailed and in-depth training on vocal singing. This deliberately focuses on voice culture and vocal therapy.
  • We offer certifications from Trinity College London in Western Vocal (Singing) for Grades Initial to 8 , ATCL,FTCL , LTCL and AMusTCL

DRUMS

  • A drummer is the backbone of any band.
  • "Providing the right feel for a song is where drummers bring personality to the musical table. Drummers like Elvin Jones, Stewart Copeland, Zigaboo Modaliste, Chris "Daddy" Dave, Benny Greb, Poogie Bell and Carlton Barrett are musicians with strong, unique voices on their instruments and bring something extra to the music that they play. The ability to identify what a song needs and deliver it with the right sound and feel is an art that drummers need to develop in order to do their job well.   • PMA helps one to unlock the secrets of drumming - to be able to start grooving with your favorite beat, forget the outside world and mold you into the groove.

PMA will provide tuned percussion snare drum , 3 toms, bass drum, hi hat, ride symbol & 2 crash cymbals, adjustable drum stool.

THEORY OF MUSIC

  • It is important not just to play MUSIC but also to understand and speak the language of MUSIC. Learning THEORY OF MUSIC is a simple way to explain the MUSIC.
  • PMA teaches the academic study and analysis of fundamental elements of music such as pitch, rhythm, harmony, and form, and refers to descriptions, concepts, or beliefs related to music.
  • We offer certifications from Trinity College London and ABRSM for THEORY OF MUSIC.
  • The Aims and objectives of Grade exams in THEORY as quoted by Trinity: "Grade exams in Theory of Music aim to provide a solid foundation in music literacy: the conventions of Western music notation, melody, rhythm and harmony. At the higher levels, these qualifications also assess basic knowledge of musical history, form and instrumental capabilities (e.g. range)"
